Invogue Polish Tea Leaf - Swatches and GIVEAWAY!

**Polishes in this review were kindly provided for me by Oh Beauty**

Good morning all!

Today I have a very special post for you - swatches of Tea Leaf, a beautiful shade by Invogue. You may recognise the name Invogue, as they are the makers of the Nails Inc Feathers dupes that I shared with you here and here.

This is the first chance I have had to try some of their 'Core' polish line. I was not disappointed! Tea Leaf is a beautiful mint creme polish. All the Invogue formulations are free from Toluene, Formaldehyde, Camphor and DBP, which for me is definitely a winner!

The formulation is fantastic - cremes can be a real pain for being streaky, being hard to level etc but this isnt, it levelled really nicely and the formula was just right - I think this could be a one coater for those a bit more careful than me! (Here I have used 2 coats with Seche base and top coat to finish out of habit). The brushes are also really nice with these polishes - no stray hairs and nice and firm which helps with application.

You can find Tea Leaf and a whole range of Invogue polishes (including the Feather effects, Concrete, Neons, Metals, Matt Suedes and Glitters) here at Oh Beauty. They retail at £4.49 each for a 10ml bottle, which works out cheaper than other retailers such as Superdrug when you factor in their free delivery (to UK).

What do you think of Invogue polishes? Do you own any? Are there any on your wishlist? I'm loving the neon range - they're definitely on my to buy list!

What do you think of this shade? Would you wear it? I'm loving it!

---------------

Now - to the giveaway! This is open to UK readers only - sorry! Oh Beauty were kind enough to send me a second bottle of Tea Leaf to give away to my lovely readers!

Rules:
Giveaway is open until 30th June - get your entries in! Open to over 18s only. I have added in some mandatory entries as I think we need to show Oh Beauty some love for giving us a free polish! More entries are available for sharing - you can do this each day to get another 5 entries per platform! Good luck!

Invogue Feather Effect Polishes - Part 2

So here we are - part 2. I went into Boots today and had a proper look at their Nails Inc selection - Sunset, Parakeet and Jaye Bird are exact dupes of theirs.

The first I tried today was Jaye Bird. I love the colours of this - blue is one of my favourite colour families. I wanted to stay as close to the other two as possible, so again, 2 thick coats and a thick coat of Seche Vite to finish.

Like the others, this still had the quite rough finish and would benefit from a second coat I think.

Last but not least is On the Money. I am pretty sure this is a dupe of Brighton Feathers, but as it wasn't in the shop I couldn't be 100% sure. I quite like this colour-wise, but it seemed a little thicker in consistency than the other two and was more difficult to level out.

Took this in artificial light as the day was dying!

Definitely think Parakeet is my favourite of the four, followed by Jaye Bird. Which are your favourites? x

Invogue Feather Effect Polishes - Swatch and Review Part 1

On the nail polish grape vine, these polishes have recently appeared as the thrifty polish buyers alternative to the Nails Inc Feathers collection.

There are four polishes in the collection - Sunset, Parakeet, On the Money and Jaye Bird. They're available from Superdrug online and apparently in some stores although I didnt find them anywhere near me. They're also a bargain price - only £3.49, when compared to the Nails Inc versions which are £11!

Each polish is made up of very fine bar glitter. I thought this might be an issue as I really dislike bar glitter (they never stay flat, they just look messy at all different directions) , but they are so very small in these polishes and very dense, that they look less like bars, they look.. i dont know.. less like bars anyway! :)

I thought I would split this into two posts - well, really I just wanted to keep one of these beauties on for more than 10 minutes! ;)

The first two I have for you are Sunset and Parakeet. I decided to choose the one that jumped out at me most, and the one that did the least. I was surprised that I love the latter more on my nails!

So - here's the first one. This is Sunset - a beautiful mix of orange and white fine hexes. I have used two coats and one coat of top coat. This still left the polish with a slightly rough texture, so I think it could do with another to even out. The bars are very dense and spread well - no dabbing required. Brush is average size, no issues and formula is easily workable.

I love the colours, but I don't think it does much for my skin tone. This ones in artificial light by the way!

The second is Parakeet. I was really unsure of this in the bottle - it looks quite.. grungy.

Again, I used two coats and one of top coat. It could do with another. I was pleasantly surprised at this. We've had a glorious day and i've spent a lot of it staring at my beautiful summery nails. <3

What do you think of Feather effect polishes? Yey or Ney? Do you own any?
